A shoujo-ai-ish fanart based on the wonderful anime and manga series, "Alien Nine." Here, Kumi (the girl behind the alien, called a Borg in the series) decides to give Yuri (girl with pigtails) a present to cheer her up after yet another miserable day of catching aliens.

The artwork was sketched and inked using traditional methods, and the coloring and shading was done using Coreldraw 9. The picture took at least a year to finish, as I gave up on it around mid-2004, then started on it again with the encouragement of the folks at the Unofficial Alien 9 Board. I'm actually quite pleased with how it came out, since I'm still pretty new at using CG (this is my fifth time doing so, I think). The purple on Kumi's outfit turned brighter after it was saved for some reason. ^^

This is my first submission here at DeviantArt. It's nice to be here!
